 Submission Guidelines


The festival welcomes films related to sports as a central theme from all over the globe in the following categories: narrative (short/long); documentary (short/long), Youth Showcase Shorts (3-5 minutes).

The subject or theme of the film must relate to sports.

Sports must be a central component and could speak to stories about athletes, sports organizations, coaches, heroism, record-breaking achievements, inspirational stories, impact of sports on family life, social role of sports internationally, mainstream and non-mainstream sports from all over the world, scandals in sports, history and evolution of sport, sports in wartime, women in sports, gay athletes and prejudice, health concerns, ethical issues of animals in sports, etc. Sports can be both mainstream, fringe, emerging, unique and lesser known sports from around the world.

Premiere films not shown at other festivals will be given priority. Films must not have been made earlier than January 2014.

Note: Submissions are closed for 2017. Submissions will re-open for the 2018 ISFFE.

Person submitting films will be notified by February 20, 2016, if their film was accepted or not.

Accepted filmmakers will need to submit 2 copies of the film in DVD format to the Festival to:
